seriously, are these posts about christmas over yet? not quite. we had our family christmas at home on christmas eve morning. since we wouldn't be home christmas morning, santa came a night early. before bed, emma and i put out cookies and milk for santa and carrots for reindeer. we sprinkled reindeer food in the front yard and put the special santa key on the front porch. nic and i put the gifts out and set up the kiddo's new train table. i cut out shoe-sized stencils for the footprints santa would leave behind.
when they woke up, emma saw the santa footprints and totally fell for it. they loved all of their gifts and we played for a while. the snow started falling so we made a mad dash out the door and headed for my hometown to start the next round of christmases.
