christmas has come and gone

we had a great christmas vacation. it started on december 20 and we had our own little christmas at our house since we would be traveling to cape for christmas with my family. i put "santa" snowprints on the carpet with baby powder so emma would think santa came into the house. we had her presents in a pile under the tree ready for her. she loved it. she tore into the pile of gifts and opened lucas's too. then on christmas eve we headed to my mom's house for the day and night. then on christmas morning we headed to my dad's house. finally, on saturday the 26th we rounded up our christmas travels at nic's mom's house. we all got to spend a lot of time with all of our family and not feel rushed. then we headed to work for a few days. lucas wasn't feeling well so nic stayed home with for a day and then i took off for a day to take care of him. we spent new year's eve at home with our little family. we put the kids to bed and nic and enjoyed our evening. i was in bed around 10:30 but did wake up at exactly 11:59 to hear people blowing up fireworks and hear lucas crying :)
